When the Forbidden City Meets the Palace of Versailles (prior registration)

A dialogue unfolds between Eastern impressionism and Western architectural perfumery: the ethereal agarwood drifting through the lacquered carvings of the Forbidden City, ambergris exuding an aura of imperial majesty; the satin-like essence of roses from the gardens of Versailles, the buttery texture of orris revealing the grandeur of the court.

Chinese incense artistry embraces the aesthetics of emptiness and contrast, where tea smoke and osmanthus wine create a poetic interplay of presence and absence. In contrast, French perfumery constructs an olfactory dome through its tri-tiered fragrance structure.

This salon juxtaposes the Ming Dynasty formula Spring’s Whisper in Snow with Napoleon’s Eau de Cologne Impériale, unveiling the shared DNA of haute perfumery—reverence for natural ingredients and a profound empathy for human emotions. Participants will have the opportunity to craft a fragrance that fuses inspirations from both cultures, witnessing the harmonious convergence of aesthetics through scent.
