The Chinese Red in Perfume (prior registration)

Deconstructing the interplay of color and aura in Eastern olfactory aesthetics through the essence of “red.” From the fiery intensity of cinnabar and the delicate richness of floral rouge to the auspicious symbolism of storax smoke and the mellow depth of amber in ancient fragrance recipes, red unfolds in layered, multifaceted imagery. Tracing back to the classic text Xiang Sheng, we revive the refined essence of “Crimson Heart” from imperial perfumery—where the lingering warmth of wood and fire signifies nobility, and the fermented sweetness of fruit notes embodies abundance. In China, red is more than a hue; it is the luster of lacquerware, the glow of festive lanterns, and the patina of time itself. Through scent as a medium, this salon invites you to experience the philosophy of “red,” distilled from five millennia of civilization.

Good Ingredients, Good Perfume (prior registration)

The soul of haute perfumery begins with nature’s finest gifts. This salon traces the origins of rare raw materials—the dewdrops of Grasse roses handpicked in the morning mist of Provence, the heartwood of century-old agarwood trees from Sri Lanka, and the sun-dried orris butter meticulously crafted in Morocco—exploring how terroir endows each ingredient with its unique vitality. Perfumers will decode the molecular secrets of these precious elements: from low-temperature cold extraction preserving the fresh vibrance of florals and fruits to traditional distillation refining the depth of resins. Participants will have the opportunity to blend their own tri-layered fragrance base, witnessing firsthand how the finest ingredients, through masterful composition, transform into liquid art. In the end, a great perfume is nothing less than the poetic embodiment of exceptional raw materials.

Does Your Perfume Have Emotions? (prior registration)

Using botanicals as brushstrokes, we paint an emotional map of scent. The bitterness of roots and stems settles into a foundation of solitude, petals evaporate into a sweet mist of joy, resins fracture into the sticky depths of desire, while citrus peels burst forth with the tart, innocent thrill of youth.

Perfumers will deconstruct the sharp green edges of rose thorns and leaf veins, the sensual tension of tuberose in full bloom, and the shifting light and shadow within citrus essential oils, from their initial brightness to their melancholic undertones.

Through a blind-smelling experiment centered on “emotional fragrance accords,” participants will learn to capture the warmth of security in sandalwood’s creamy embrace, the distant alienation in patchouli’s earthy musk, and ultimately, blend their own liquid emotional spectrum—a scent-driven self-portrait brought to life in a theatrical olfactory experience.

The Application of Chinese Elements in Luxury Perfume Brands

Beyond the symbolic imagery of tea and bamboo, Chinese elements in perfumery should be an olfactory archaeology that delves deep into civilization itself. It is about resurrecting lost formulas, such as the secret Hundred Wash Fragrance from the Pepper Chamber of the imperial palace, analyzing the transformation of the Forbidden City’s red lacquer as it oxidizes into an amber-wood musk, and capturing the damp green essence of moss creeping over eaves during Jiangnan’s monsoon season.

The cultural prestige of haute perfumery lies in decoding the terroir’s hidden language—the cool bitterness of Sichuan’s aged golden nanmu, the fermented sweet-tart depth of Lingnan’s aged tangerine peel, the powdery mineral dust of Dunhuang’s ancient murals—all of which can be distilled into scent.

When international brands reduce the East to a mere whisper of patchouli, we can distill an entire cycle of the Twenty-Four Solar Terms, revealing the shifting humidity and dappled light of the seasons. True luxury is allowing fragrance to become the manuscript that measures the textures of five millennia of culture.

When the Forbidden City Meets the Palace of Versailles (prior registration)

A dialogue unfolds between Eastern impressionism and Western architectural perfumery: the ethereal agarwood drifting through the lacquered carvings of the Forbidden City, ambergris exuding an aura of imperial majesty; the satin-like essence of roses from the gardens of Versailles, the buttery texture of orris revealing the grandeur of the court.

Chinese incense artistry embraces the aesthetics of emptiness and contrast, where tea smoke and osmanthus wine create a poetic interplay of presence and absence. In contrast, French perfumery constructs an olfactory dome through its tri-tiered fragrance structure.

This salon juxtaposes the Ming Dynasty formula Spring’s Whisper in Snow with Napoleon’s Eau de Cologne Impériale, unveiling the shared DNA of haute perfumery—reverence for natural ingredients and a profound empathy for human emotions. Participants will have the opportunity to craft a fragrance that fuses inspirations from both cultures, witnessing the harmonious convergence of aesthetics through scent.
